This Is ADHD is a clear, approachable guide created by neurodivergent author and illustrator Chanelle Moriah. Written to make ADHD easier to understand, this book gently explains what Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder is and how it can shape different areas of everyday life.
Using simple explanations and thoughtful illustrations, Chanelle explores how ADHD can affect focus, organisation, routines, emotions, and energy. Complex ideas are broken down into clear sections, making the information accessible for ADHDers, whānau, educators, and anyone wanting to learn more.
Alongside practical insights, the book includes space for reflection and personal notes, encouraging readers to connect the information to their own lived experience. Chanelle’s lived experience brings authenticity and reassurance, helping readers feel understood rather than defined by a diagnosis.
How you might use this book:
- Use the clear explanations to talk with teachers or whānau about how ADHD shows up and what support can look like in everyday life.
- Write notes or reflections in the spaces provided to personalise the book to your own experience or your child’s needs.
- Revisit sections as challenges shift over time - the book offers practical, affirming guidance you can return to again and again.
Whether you’re newly diagnosed, supporting someone with ADHD, or simply wanting to better understand neurodivergence, This Is ADHD is an accessible, compassionate resource for making sense of an often misunderstood condition.
